When Hazrat Idris (AS) reached the age of consciousness, Allah Almighty elevated him to the status of Prophethood. Then he started preaching the path of guidance to the wicked and corrupt, but the corrupt did not listen to him and remained opposed to the law of Hazrat Adam Sheesh (AS). However, a small group of people embraced Islam. When Hazrat Idris (AS) saw this color, he decided to migrate from there and advised his followers to migrate as well. When his followers heard this from Hazrat Idris (AS), they were very sad to leave their homeland and said, “Where can we get a homeland like ours?” Hazrat Idris (AS) consoled them and said, “If you bear this special hardship in the way of Allah, then His mercy is vast and He will surely give you a reward in return. So do not lose heart and bow down before the command of Allah.
” After the consent of the Muslims, Hazrat Idris and his group migrated to Egypt. When the group saw the flowing Nile and the lushness of its land, they were very happy, and Hazrat Idris (AS) saw this, he decided to leave his homeland. He said to the congregation, “Babylon, like your Babylon, they chose a fertile place and a good place and settled on the banks of the Nile.” With this phrase of Hazrat Idris (AS), the Babylonians gained such fame that not only the Arabs but also the ancient nations began to call this land Babylonians. However, the Arabs named it Egypt and explained the reason for this name that after the flood of Noah, it became the homeland of the descendants of Egypt, son of Ham.
